A Story
Evergreen:
A Gettysburg Tale
To little George Thorn and his animal friends, Evergreen Cemetery is their playground. Behind George’s family’s home, the cemetery Gatehouse, they spend countless hours playing tag and hide and seek among the trees and gravestones. But when the Civil War comes to their doorstep, they must find ways to work together to survive the Battle of Gettysburg. Join George, Finn, Fella, and George’s heroic mother Elizabeth as they bear witness to one of the most consequential battles in American history and President Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
The Evergreen Cemetery Board of Trustees and Staff are committed to preserving the history and beauty of Evergreen Cemetery. The cemetery grounds, trees and wildlife are respected and maintained to the highest standards so that this peaceful place can be appreciated today and sustained for future generations.
Proceeds from the sale of this book will help to preserve the historic Evergreen Cemetery Gatehouse and enhance the grounds of the cemetery for loved ones and our animal friends.
